"Sustainability on the Plate: Linking Food, Human Health and Net Zero in Food Production"

The Good Food Ireland® Conference 2025 took place on Tuesday, 25th March in Anantara The Marker Hotel, Dublin, a cross-sector conference on the vital role of Ireland’s agri-food and tourism sectors and the opportunities of cross-sector collaboration in ensuring long-term economic growth and social stability across the island of Ireland.

Professor John Gilliland was invited to the conference as a keynote speaker on the subject of “Sustainability on the Plate: Linking Food, Human Health and Net Zero in Food Production”. Professor Gilliland unpicked the hidden costs to human health and the environment of our food choices before diving into how as a practicioner farmers can move towards climate smart farming for nutricious locally produced Irish food.
